Transparency International – Corruption Perception Index (CPI) Data: Index relying on surveys and indicators from various sources, including the African Development Bank, the Bertelsmann Foundation, and the World Bank (among many others). 17 Financial support from the Knowledge for Change Program of the World Bank is gratefully acknowledged. The Worldwide Governance Indicators (WGI) are a research dataset summarizing the views on the quality of governance provided by a large number of enterprise, citizen and expert survey respondents in industrial and developing countries. Detailed documentation of the WGI, interactive tools for exploring the data, and full access to the underlying source data available at www.govindicators.org.The WGI are produced by Daniel Kaufmann (Natural Resource Governance Institute and Brookings Institution) and Aart Kraay (World Bank Development Research Group). The Global Corruption Index (GCI) allows the identification and classification of a party’s risk exposure depending on its geographical localization, in compliance with current legal requirements such as the French law “Sapin II”. The GCI is based on 28 open source datasets that exclusively originate from internationally recognized entities. Launched by the World Bank Group and the UNODC, it is the first systematic compilation of past and current recovery cases involving corruption.

The CPI 2017 is calculated using 13 different data sources from 12 different institutions that capture perceptions of corruption within the past two years. Corruption Index in Peru increased to 38 Points in 2020 from 36 Points in 2019. Corruption Index in Peru averaged 37.52 Points from 1998 until 2020, reaching an all time high of 45 Points in 1999 and a record low of 33 Points in 2006. It would have been more appropriate, however, to cite TI's annual Corruption Perceptions Index, since it not only is still their best known tool, but is based on both surveys of business executives and assessments by country analysts from independent and reputable institutions as well (as opposed to 'households,' as you write a bit quaintly).
